Proha’s Safran Portal solution to support DNA’s product development

Proha Plc delivered Safran Portal project and portfolio management solution with time reporting functionalities for Product Development unit of DNA Palvelut Oy.

DNA Palvelut Oy was established as DNA Group expanded considerably in July 2007, and needed a new tool for managing the R&D projects. The target was to establish a system for centralized project portfolio and project management as well as for time reporting and management.

The newly established R&D organization needed an established product that can be modified to support the management and operating processes defined for product development. The implementation partner to be selected needed to be able to provide quick delivery without cumbersome and time consuming implementation project. Also the option for delivery as SaaS (Sofware as a Service) was considered important.

"The number of users has increased since solution was taken into production use and the reception has been positive both by the management and users. The phased implementation completed in Proha’s management succeeded as planned and all necessary adjustments were flexibly accomplished", says Jukka Usmi, Director of R&D at DNA Palvelut Oy.

"The possible use of Safran Portal for DNA to also in our other units has been taken into account in e.g. automation of project numbering. We have also the option to transfer the system and database to our own ICT environment", Usmi explains.
